Getting started ...

How to use the Permeable Surface Tool

Permeable Surfaces Tool Setup
Set Up Your Permeable Surface Project

Start a Permeable Surfaces Moduule and then configure your project's info by choosing the concrete parameters you need for your permeable surface. You can also choose between one of our Pervia concretes that naturally improves drainage through their unique design that allows water to drain back to the soil, improving the water management. You can then set the soil structure by defining the base and subbase layers that will support the pavement system.

Define Structural Parameters

Set the load-bearing requirements for your permeable pavement. Choose from predefined load types or create custom loads to reflect the expected use of the surface. Multiple loads can be added to evaluate different structural scenarios.

Permeable Surfaces Tool - Add Hydrological Parameters
Define Hydrological Parameters

Set the hydrological context for your project by selecting the country and city for the analysis. The tool applies location-based rainfall and water management parameters, while advanced options allow you to enter custom values when needed.

Add Pipes and Runoff Areas

You can also include pipe systems by defining their geometry, material, and hydraulic calculation method. If your project includes surrounding runoff areas, add them by selecting the surface type and area. Multiple pipe systems and runoff areas can be added to better reflect the real project conditions.

Get your hydrological and structural results

Run the analysis to calculate the structural and hydrological performance of the permeable surface. The live preview panel shows whether the pavement is compliant, while the results area provides hydrological balance tables, structural results, and visual outputs including flow charts, water profile, runoff, and hyetograph diagrams. You can review the results, adjust inputs if needed, and download the chart data to Excel for further analysis or reporting.
